Techie

To every techie in the world,
Be it a boy or a girl,
Workin' on that stage when you know you won't be seen,
You don't do it for the glory.
There are no dreams of fame in your story.
You're not the prima donna drama queen.

You own the lights, you own the set,
You deserve the applause that the actors get,
But no one's ever gonna hear you complain,
'Cause you know the show relies on you,
From the actors' looks to their lighting cues,
And making them look good is your aim.

So every techie, pat your back,
But make sure that you stay on track.
You've done work that can't go without reward.
Now you go to finish the job,
Though your back starts aching and your fingers throb.
Clap for techies; they deserve your applause and more.

So every techie, take your bow.
The clapping heard is for you now.
I know the silent triumph.  I understand,
'Cause really I'm a techie too,
And without people like me and you
I couldn't take our story through the land.
